Cannon & Bullock begin with hand made papers from around the world. Made in the same way they have been for hundreds of years, from natural fibers sifted through hand made screens, rinsed by the running waters of natural streams.
The color and finish of the papers is done by hand in the Cannon & Bullock Design Studios on Whidbey Island, Washington. They also add unique patterns and materials, to some of them, such as hand dyed silk ribbons and Murano glass beads.
They draw on the papers with time honored implements like old fashioned metal quill pens and Japanese brush pens; paint patterns on them with unique colors, and guild them with gold, silver, and copper leaf, reminiscent of the aged patterns and shimmer of Venice.
